Theory to Scelestus Opening
So we have just finished our rough draft for our film opening Celestes and I wanted to talk about the different film theories that we wanted to apply or try to apply to our project. The first theory is the Hitchcockian theory, And it basically shows the threat to the audience before something happens. So we placed the audio cues of the banging and the screen right before our actor Madeline Russo heard it. This makes the audience be filled with suspense as they know something that the protagonist does not know so it shows a dramatic irony. Another main theory we wanted to apply to our film. Opening was the gender representation theory, and many females do not get a protagonist role because of a role of their vulnerability this is shown through the death of our actor who played as Lily Solace. But we also wanted to go against the gender norms and make our protagonist less vulnerable to show that not all women follow the typical stereotypes.
